Battle of Montgomery Creek Re-enactment
June 6-7 2009
Boondocks Farms Presents "The Battle of Montgomery Creek"
A wonderful weekend event that portraits a realistic view of the life and times of the Historic Civil War Era in the United States almost 150 years ago.
Authentic-minded soldiers and civilians are invited to re-enact on 160 rolling acres in central Indiana. Boondocks Farms is home to a historical site and preservation area. It has thick woods, open fields, and Montgomery Creek running through it. All this is located just 2 miles south of I-70.
This is a tremendous event for families to visit and see how the Civil War was fought.
We have recently added a cooking contest to the weekend's events which will be open to both re-enactors and the public.
Categories will be: pies, cakes, bread, noodles and jelly
Requirements: must submit historically correct recipes along with the source from
which it came. (Needs to be 1865 or earlier)
Grading: proper ingredients, presentation, taste
Cooking contest will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday.
